Your situation

A clear task.
A starting point.

Find the situation closest to yours. Use it to start a conversation about the support you need.

Changing your accountant

Agree a handover date, review the database and identify matters that remain with the previous provider.

Setting up your records

Your company is starting to trade and needs a document flow, accounting records and clear responsibilities.

Supporting your own team

Keep your internal accountant and bring BMS into a defined area such as calculations, reconciliations or reporting.

Scope of work

What the
work covers.

These are the possible areas of work. Your proposal specifies the relevant tasks, outputs and responsibilities.

Receiving documents

Review supplied materials, clarify transactions and list missing records and questions for your team.

Recording transactions

Maintain the agreed areas of the accounting database: purchases, sales, receipts, payments and balances with counterparties.

Reconciliations and period close

Compare records with available documents and identify discrepancies, outstanding balances and items requiring clarification.

Preparing reports

Prepare the accounting and tax reports included in the engagement. Agree who reviews, approves and files them before submission.

Employee calculations

Where included, calculate payroll using supplied information and connect the results to the accounting records.

Handover and reconstruction

Review the database, opening balances and earlier periods. Missing historical records are handled as a separate scope.

The output

What you
receive.

Agree the format and scope before work begins, so you know what you will receive and how it can be used.

Discuss the output I need
  1. Processed accounting records with explanations of outstanding matters.

  2. Reports and calculations for the agreed accounting areas.

  3. Missing documents, discrepancies and people responsible for clarification.

  4. A process for document exchange, calculation approval and period close.

An illustrative task

The accountant is changing, but operations continue

The database and documents need to move without losing unfinished work from an earlier period.

The work

Set a transition date, review delivered records, separate ongoing accounting from reconstruction and prepare questions for the former provider.

What the company receives

A handover plan, an inventory of inputs and open issues, followed by the selected accounting work.

An illustrative situation explaining the service.

The working process

From a conversation
to practical steps.

  1. Understand the starting point

Discuss your activity, database, transactions and the work you want to delegate.

  2. Plan the handover

Agree the start date, areas, balances, outstanding items and access arrangements.

  3. Establish the working cycle

Receive records, resolve questions, record transactions and prepare the agreed outputs.

For the first conversation

  • Employee numbers if payroll is included

Before we begin

Other questions
to consider.

Can we keep our own accountant?

Yes. BMS can support a specific area. Tasks, data access and responsibility for the final reporting are agreed in advance.

Can a handover take place during the year?

Start with the intended date, database and open periods. The handover scope follows a review of the available records.

What if documents are missing?

First identify the gaps and possible sources. Any reconstruction work is assessed separately.

Which accounting systems do you use?

Tell us which system and data formats your company uses. Compatibility and any migration are checked before the assignment is accepted.
